First Things First – Let’s Begin

If you read this you are probably one of the first persons on this planet who has read some of my writing. Hopefully, you are here to learn something about what is most commonly known as movement culture. I have started more than one year ago with engaging in the work associated with and created through Ido Portal and Marcello Palozzo. Never directly from them but through a student of them. As I feel like I am still in my early steps I do not want to create the impression of being an expert, teacher or anything near these concepts. I see myself as humble student with the urge to make sense of his own journey. Therefore, I want to combine my practice of the physical with the practice of the word. As I am new to both of these things, I named this blog “beginner move”.

I am not sure where this practice will lead me and what the value for exactly will be. One of the topics I want to address is the impact of daily movement on different aspects of my life and thoughts. I have worked as academic researcher and therefore try to find the connection of these improvements to the scientific world and would be happy to hear if others have experienced similar effects. Further I want to connect to the global (maybe first the local) community of moving people. This means I will create resources that help people to find the right people close to where they live as I know from experience that practicing within a community of like-minded people on a daily basis has a lot of beauty and is essential for motivation and learning. I am not sure how such a resource will look a like, maybe just links to Facebook groups and list of movement schools. As a German I will try to focus on Germany, than gradually expand to other European countries. For now, this is it and I will click publish for the first time.
